We are in a similar position to many other Scout Groups in that we now need to raise money to invest in our building and equipment. Specifically, we need to develop new stores, refurbish the kitchen, repair the roof, the windows and the floor, and update our indoor equipment. Our initial estimates are that we will need to raise at least £150,000 over the next four years.
We already perform well in fundraising. Our main events such as Bonfire Night and the Beer and Wine Festival contribute significant funds – although we always need more volunteers to help run these activities.
But individual members of the group can help as well. We particularly welcome your involvement in our supermarket bag packing days, and we hope to increase the numbers of Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and their families who take part in the District Yomp every spring.
